Re: PV Coaches
What some need to remember. As far as i know. Even to be an assistant and be on the field during a VHSL event. You have to have your time in, and i think have your VHSL, required training.
Volunteers can help on a limited basis. But in all honestly a volunteer coach, cannot be on the sidelines, bench or in a dugout, during a regular season VHSL contest.
They have to have that affiliation with the school and have met the VHSL regulations.
It's not enforced alot. Due to equipment managers and other etc. but as far as i know, it was one of the rules of the VHSL.
Volunteers are hard to find.
And mostly at the levels you need them. The p-nut levels upward to teach the kids the fundamentals.
Most of the time parents serve here until their child is through the program and it ends.
One thing i can say that PV has done, they have had coaches in their P-nut programs that have been there for years, and that success has shown with a good feeder program, for their JV and Varsity programs.
